BHS Corrugated is seeking a Training and Qualification Director to join our growing team in our Charlotte, NC office!
Summary:
The Training and Qualification Director will oversee the operations of our state-of-the-art Experience Center, which serves as a hub for training, qualification, and customer engagement. This role involves managing the demonstration and training resources of our showroom, coordinating training programs, and ensuring that the center delivers a world-class experience for both internal teams and external customers. This is a hybrid position requiring 10-20% travel.

Responsibilities:
Training and Qualification:
- Lead the development and deployment of a comprehensive qualification program for technical employees, in partnership with our Service leadership.
- Support Service team efforts in training customers on the use, maintenance, and safety of BHS equipment with the Training teams and Experience Center.
- Facilitate engagements with product specialists, engineers, and subject matter experts in NA and in Germany to ensure training content is accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to the needs of the business.
- Partner with HR team in developing and deploying robust professional development tools and training for all BHS NA employees.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs and teams, adjusting as necessary to meet qualification standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Experience Center, ensuring all equipment, facilities, and resources are well-maintained and fully operational.
- Manage scheduling and logistics for customer visits, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
- Continuously improve the layout and functionality of the showroom to enhance the customer experience.
- Work closely with the Sales and Service teams to align the Experience Center’s activities with broader business goals, ensuring a seamless customer journey.
- Ensure support to hosts for customer visits as they deliver compelling demonstrations and presentations that highlight the value and capabilities of our products.
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment, tools, and materials used in the Experience Center, ensuring that everything is in optimal condition and available as needed.
- Manage budgets for the Experience Center, including procurement of new equipment and materials, and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the timely delivery of necessary resources and services.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of trainers, coordinators, and support staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging the team to contribute ideas for improving the Experience Center’s impact.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, training & development, human resources, or related field.
- At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in managing the effective deployment training in the manufacturing/industrial industry.
- Strong understanding of industrial equipment, products, services, and capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills are a must.
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization internally as well as with external partners and customers.
- Leadership experience with a track record of developing and motivating teams. Experience leading training, maintenance, and installation personnel preferred.
- Human and financial capital management skills that ensure project completion in line with budget and employee resources.
- 10 – 20% travel to BHS sites domestically as well as some international travel to our parent in Germany.
- Advanced/intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit at a desk for 8 hours a day as this position will require being in our offices.
