Summary
BHS Corrugated is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Systems Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of industrial corrugating and production machinery at customer sites.
The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, experience with PLC-controlled equipment, and the ability to work independently while representing BHS Corrugated in the field. This role requires up to 75% travel and participation in after-hours support as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, experience with PLC-controlled equipment, and the ability to work independently while representing BHS Corrugated in the field. This role requires up to 75% travel and participation in after-hours support as needed.
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair electrical and control systems on industrial machinery at customer facilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, electrical calibrations, and warranty service interventions
- Diagnose electrical, control, drive, and servo system issues using standard diagnostic tools
- Provide after-hours, on-call emergency support to customers as assigned
- Communicate effectively with customer personnel on-site and by phone to identify and resolve issues
- Support machine startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities in compliance with company and OSHA safety procedures
- Perform electrical performance evaluations and service audits (PEMs)
- Generate detailed service reports documenting work performed, findings, and any unresolved issues
- Complete accurate timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner
- Make own travel arrangements to customer sites
- Follow engineering instructions, technical manuals, schematics, and documented work procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Technical/trade school certificate or Associate’s degree preferred
- Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Experience working with PLC-based control systems (Siemens S7 / TIA Portal preferred)
- Understanding of industrial drives, servos, motors, and process control systems
- Experience performing electrical troubleshooting and independent field service interventions
- Ability to perform installations, calibrations, and preventative maintenance activities
- Ability to learn and work with proprietary software systems
- Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and communication
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to work well with customers, subcontractors, and coworkers
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% of the time
- Prior experience as an Electrical Systems Technician, Field Service Technician, Electrical Technician, or Maintenance Technician
- Experience working with corrugating or large industrial manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with Siemens S7 PLCs, TIA Portal (SCL), drives, and control technology
- Knowledge of EPLAN and Bosch Rexroth IndraWorks DS
- Experience using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical test tools
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, twist, and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver objects weighing at least 30 pounds
- Ability to navigate safely over and around industrial equipment
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs
- Ability to work in hot, cold, confined, or elevated work environments
- Sufficient hand-eye coordination and dexterity to work with tools and electrical components
- Hourly rate: $39–$44 per hour
