Machine Operator (Machining / Precision Manufacturing)

Overview

BHS Corrugated is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to support machining and production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with machining equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high quality and safety standards.

This is not a basic operator position — we are looking for someone comfortable working with precision equipment, performing inspections, and supporting overall equipment reliability.

What You’ll Do

• Operate machining equipment including flute grinders, OD grinders, and lathes
• Perform precision measurements and quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Document production activity and enter data into SAP and shop floor systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and support equipment reliability
• Respond to unplanned downtime and troubleshooting needs
• Maintain 5S workplace standards and promote safe work practices
• Assist in training operators and supporting team development

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of machining or manufacturing experience
• Experience operating lathes and grinding equipment
• Strong understanding of precision measurement tools
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Comfortable working independently in a production environment
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and as needed for urgent support

Preferred:

• Experience with SAP and production systems
• Forklift experience
• MIG/TIG welding experience
