BHS Robotics is seeking an experienced Upgrades Project Engineer to join our growing team in Hanover Park, IL!

SUMMARY
The Project Engineer is a critical business contributor, with responsibility for leading upgrade projects which involve replacement/modernization of system-wide controls platforms within our clients’ corrugated and/or converting machinery.

The Project Engineer is responsible for organizing onsite projects by ensuring project workflows are followed, and event milestones are fulfilled.  This includes tracking project activity and preparations at the BHS facility, as well as scheduling installation and service teams at customer sites. 

They will ensure all project specifications are fulfilled, on time and on budget.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Function as primary focal point for customer communications through project action items and progress status reports.
  • Identify and manage overall project dependencies and ensure project deliverables stay on-time, on-target, and on-budget.
  • Lead weekly project status meetings and track all activities in accordance with timing and performance requirements.
  • Maintain Manpower plan and time schedules related to customer installations.
  • Communicate with internal departments daily to provide direction to your team.
  • Prepare communication plan and related project status reports to key stakeholders and provide project updates on activities and deliverables, as well as risks and mitigation strategies. 
  • Maintain and monitor inventory and components required for installations.
  • Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • College degree desired, Robotics or Mechatronics preferred.
  • 5 years project management experience, or service department specializing in automation systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad and Solidworks.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The role of the Project Engineer, while primarily an office-based position, does require the ability to engage in physical activities consistent with engineering environments. This may include:
 
  • Sitting for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Regular walking, bending, and standing to support projects on the shop floor or site visits.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds when working with prototypes or machinery.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components during design or review processes.
  • Visual acuity to accurately work on detailed drawings and to inspect equipment.
  • Occasional travel (up to 50%) to project sites, which may require additional physical demands depending on the location.
  • Candidates should be capable of fulfilling these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations to carry out the essential functions of the role.
