Knowledge of the capital equipment market conditions, automation solutions and competitive landscape in addition to a robust understanding of general manufacturing practices.
Proven sales track record in the manufacturing, automation and/or capital equipment industry.
Ability to work with and gather pertinent information from all manufacturing levels. Build trust while developing strategic opportunities from key decision makers and influencers within existing and new customers.
Strong communication skills with a solid technical background and ability to present solutions in person or electronically, with an understanding which delivery method is best per circumstance.
An outgoing, personable “Hunter” with business development skills who quickly and easily relates to and establishes a rapport with others. One adept at cold/warm calling, follow up and forecasting.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Manage Existing Account Relationships.
Maintain & Nurture Existing Accounts to increase sales.
Expand client contacts within Existing Accounts.
Conduct regular value-based customer contacts.
Serve as key contact in escalation issues.
New Account Development
Define strategic business plan and execute against sales goals.
Qualify new opportunities provided through marketing & trade shows.
Cultivate new opportunities through referrals and networking
New Market Development
Discover new product solutions, markets and applications
Identify marketing material needs and assist with content development.
General / Administration
Manage leads in the CRM for tracking, reporting, internal communication and follow up.
Respond to RFQs & Develop strategy to close sales.
Develop / Present concept/proposal & Sell business to meet revenue targets.
Keep current on industry and market trends, new technology, tools and software.
High School Diploma required.
College degree desired
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Five (5) years sales experience required, selling to end users, senior management / (C-suite preferred)
Experience required utilizing CRM, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint based quotation tools.
Experience required in preparing and presenting concepts & solutions in person, electronically and verbally.
Sales and Business Development experience in automation or related technical field desired.
Experience in CAPEX, manufacturing and OEM marketplaces desired.
Engineering background in design, build and install or service of custom equipment manufacturing desired.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional overnight, weekend and extended travel as required, potentially international.
