Technical Trainer – Mechanical & Electrical (Corrugated Industry)

BHS Corrugated North America
Travel Role – Approx. 50% | U.S., Canada & Occasional Europe

Train. Teach. Elevate Performance. (Without the 100% Travel Grind)

BHS Corrugated is the global leader in corrugating technology—and we’re expanding our Training team.

We’re looking for a Technical Trainer who can combine deep mechanical and electrical expertise with a passion for developing others. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who want to stay hands-on in the corrugated industry while transitioning into a position with more stability, influence, and long-term growth.

If you’ve worked in field service or maintenance and enjoy sharing knowledge, coaching others, and improving performance—this is your next step.

What You’ll Do

  • Train BHS customers and internal technicians in mechanical and electrical systems

  • Develop and deliver technical training programs (classroom, on-the-job, and informal formats)

  • Create custom training plans and materials tailored to customer needs

  • Provide hands-on instruction on corrugating equipment and real-world troubleshooting

  • Partner with customers and internal teams to improve machine performance, uptime, and efficiency

  • Translate complex technical issues into clear, practical training solutions

  • Complete detailed training reports, including results, action items, and next steps

  • Support business growth by promoting and expanding training services

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, service, and operations teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance or field service

  • Experience in the corrugated industry or with OEM equipment (BW Papersystems, Fosber, Mitsubishi, etc.) is a strong plus

  • Outgoing, coaching-oriented personality with strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to engage and train adult learners in both classroom and hands-on environments

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to quickly learn and teach new technologies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Why This Role Stands Out

  • ~50% travel vs. typical 80–100% field service roles

  • Stay in the industry while stepping into a more stable, long-term career path

  • Opportunity to influence multiple sites and teams, not just one machine at a time

  • Be recognized as a technical expert and mentor

Compensation

  • $90,000 – $100,000 BASE salary + BONUS

  • Company-paid travel expenses

  • Long-term growth opportunities within BHS Corrugated

Requirements

  • Ability to travel approximately 50% across North America, with occasional international travel

  • Valid driver’s license and passport required

  • Physically able to:

    • Stand and walk for extended periods

    • Lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs

    • Climb ladders and navigate industrial equipment

    • Work in varying industrial environments (hot/cold conditions)

Why BHS Corrugated

  • Global leader in corrugating technology

  • Work with cutting-edge equipment and innovation

  • Play a direct role in improving customer performance and productivity

  • Join a company committed to people development and long-term careers
